Welcome to the University of Toronto!

The Faculty Relocation Service assists prospective and recently appointed tenure and tenure-stream faculty members, continuing teaching stream faculty members, and permanent-status stream librarians outside the Great Toronto Area with most aspects of relocating to Toronto and the surrounding areas. Consultations are free and confidential. We aim to ensure your transition to life as part of the University of Toronto is as comfortable as possible.

We meet with faculty members to discuss the following:

    • housing, real estate, mortgages, moving and banking
    • supports available for partner job searches
    • parental leave policies and benefits, child care, and schools
    • supports available for caring for family members, including older family members
    • community facilities and services on and off campus
    • general orientation to Toronto and the University
    • communities within the University and/or within the GTA including ethnocultural, faith, and 2SLGBTQ+

Benefit plan consultations can be arranged with your Divisional Human Resources Office.

Through the Family Care Office, the University of Toronto offers programs to assist faculty members, staff, and students in balancing their family and professional lives. These programs include workshops, support groups and consultations.
