Finding a Family Doctor
Note: In case of an emergency in Ontario, go to a hospital or call 911.

For information, please visit these websites:
Once you are enrolled in the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP), you have two options to search for a family doctor or nurse practitioner.
- Find a doctor or nurse practitioner using the Government of Ontario’s Health Care Connect. You will not be able to sign up for Health Care Connect if you are already registered with a health care provider.
- The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario offers these Resources for Finding a New Doctor
We also suggest asking colleagues and others if they can recommend primary healthcare providers who are accepting new patients.
Incoming faculty members who have high or complex medical needs, or who have dependents moving with them with high or complex needs, are encouraged to contact the Faculty Relocation Service to discuss searching for a healthcare provider.
