Importing a Vehicle / Driver’s License

  • When asking moving companies for a quote, ask the moving company for information on bringing a vehicle with you. Review the information on the Registrar of Imported Vehicles (RIV) early so that you can make a decision about importing your vehicle.
  • Exchanging your out-of-province driver’s license: any new resident with a driver’s license from another province or country must apply for an Ontario driver’s license within 60 days.
